HP G6-1306 Laptop Review

12 April 2013

HP has launched budget laptops with their G6 series. HP G6-1306 is priced at about £499.99 and decent performance specification for the regular computing usage.

System has AMD Dual-Core A4-3305M 1.9GHz Processor and 4GB DDR3 RAM. The maximum RAM expansion is upto 6GB. The performance of the system is very good for the gaming and for the graphics sensitive applications.  Heat dissipation due to the in built graphics card has some issues but not all models are affected. It has 1TB hard drive capacit for the AMD models and 500GB for the intel based systems.

HP G6 has Windows 7 Edition Home Premium operating system and works just fine. You get the extra partition for the one touch backup. It has one touch action keys to some of the features like I/O ports. Touchpad has capability to read multiple gestures of the laptop. It is possible to turn on and off these touchpad features if needed.

It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, WLAN 802.11n and HDMI ports along with the SDCard reader and audio port on the front side. The performance of the audio port is not that good and it would be better to use either headphone or speakers.

HP G6 has 15.6” HD display with resolution of 1366 x 768px. Display doesn’t have glare issue and you can use the system in the bright sunlight. The case is glossy, smooth charcoal grey and is much lightweight with 2.6kg.

Battery performance is atleast 3 hours with the WLAN and other applications turned ON. In case of the IDLE system you can have atleast 4 hours of the backup. In comparison to some of the other laptops in the market this runtime is much better and is enough for the casual usage. You will even find the battery performance better If you are running less graphics sensitive applications.

If you’re looking for performance laptop at budget price then HP G6-1306 laptop is a good bargain.
