Medion Erazer X7819

17 June 2013

Medion has launched it’s budget gaming laptop in the European market. Considering the powerful specs at the reasonable price, Erazer competes with many branded laptops that priced higher for minimal configuration.

I didn’t like Medion’s decision of going with the Windows 8 since I would rather go ahead with the Windows 7 edition as the UI and performance of the 7 is much better compared to the 8. It has high definition Dolby Home Theatre v4 certified audio with two in-built loud speakers and a subwoofer, which makes gaming experience even better.

Considering the gaming laptop, the specifications are carefully selected by medion for this laptop. It has Intel Core i7-3630QM with Turbo Boost Technology and 16GB of internal memory and a 750GB hard drive. You can also extend the hard disk with the expansion slot. As for display, It has Nvidia GeForce GTX 670MX Direct X 11 graphics on a a matte 17.3-inch 1600x 900p HD display with LED back lighting.

This laptop has a battery runtime of 2 hours in IDLE running and 1 hour and 34 minutes if the heavy applications are running. Considering the gaming performance specs and the screen size, the battery performance is pretty good. Default warranty of the laptop is 12 months which you can extend from the official store site. As this is gaming laptop, you may feel the need to extend the warranty of the laptop.

It is priced at £899 which is a budget range gaming laptop, and I have seen some of the gaming laptops with similar specifications at an even higher price. Most of the popular brands have very lower configuration for this price and not even suitable for the gaming or heavy graphics usage. So this is a very good laptop for those who are looking for a cheaper but well-packed gaming machine.
