Should I Buy an Extra Laptop Battery?

Now that you have bought and used your laptop for quite a while, the time has come for your battery to go away. It has given enough life for your laptop, and its recharge cycle is now over. Therefore it never hurts to have an extra laptop battery. Moreover if you are working on your notebook for long durations of time, then having an extra battery is a must. The single and most important function of an extra laptop battery is extended power life, and as long as the battery provides that, it should be sufficient.

How to Choose a Laptop Battery?

We have written a detailed blog post on how to choose a laptop battery on our website. Generally, you need to select the model of your laptop in the drop-down menu on the left or type the part-number of the battery in the search box. It’s simple, but if you still have troubles, we are always here to help.

How to Get More Life from a New Laptop Battery?

First of all, you should learn how to start it the right way. It is very important to fully charge the battery; this could take up to 8 hours. Once this first charge has been completed, remove your AC adapter from the socket and use the laptop until the battery gets fully discharged. Then put it for charging again and repeat this task at least for 3 to 4 times.

Secondly, while working on the battery power without AC adapter plugged in, turn off any additional hardware that you are not using at the moment. Everyone knows you've got Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, radio and what not in your laptop, but why flaunt it? Turn off these things as they use up battery resources, causing you to recharge it more often and reducing battery life.

Thirdly, run CDs and DVDs only if you have to, as running disks also drain much battery power. With many laptops coming equipped with such large hard drives nowadays, it would be better if you copy all your collection onto your laptop before hitting the road.

Finally, try not to multi-task while on battery power. Save it for the time when the laptop's plugged in. For instance, please avoid downloading , copying , writing emails, playing games, working on a presentation all at once. This will improve your battery life a lot in the long run.

Following the above tips will ensure that your battery is conditioned healthily and is all set to give you years of flawless usage.
